About Kate

Hello! I am Kate, and this is my website.

I'm using this as a place to talk about my hobbies and post some pictures of finished projects. Since the start of the COVID pandemic, I've been picking up hobbies like nobody's business. Mostly, I enjoy the three categories listed in the menu of this page, along with reading, gardening, and renovating my house.

I love to learn how to do new things, and I love not being a perfectionist because it lets me have fun at them whether or not I am very good! Life is too short and too full of other unpleasantness to spend free time miserably.

In my work life, I'm a librarian! That's not really what this website is about, because it's just my job, but it is a job I enjoy so I'll mention it here. I'm lucky in that it lets me work on tasks and projects I'm interested in and things that are important to me, and in my own little way to make the world a better place, I think. I'm also a union steward! Below is a Cool Meme(TM) I made to express my feelings when people say libraries should be politically neutral:
